On Twitter, Avenatti said: 'My client Stormy Daniels was arrested in Columbus, Ohio, while performing the same act she has performed across the nation at almost a hundred clubs.
Cops say Daniels grabbed an undercover officer's backside while performing in the club, but her lawyer says that she was arrested for allowing a customer to touch her 'in a non sexual manner!'
Daniels was scheduled to perform at Sirens Gentlemen's Club on Wednesday and Thursday, according to its website.
Avenatti posted on Twitter on Thursday morning that Daniels will plead not guilty to three misdemeanour charges. Officers also say she was fondling the breasts of female patrons.
In Ohio, it is illegal for an employee who is "nude or seminude" at a sexually oriented business to be touched by a patron or to touch a patron, with the exception of an immediate family member.
Avenatti said Daniels was arrested during a sting operation.

Avenatti told Newsweek he had no comment to add beyond his tweets.
"This was a setup & politically motivated". A person who answered the phone at the strip club declined to comment.

Daniels has been entrenched in a legal controversy with Trump over their alleged 2006 encounter, which he has repeatedly denied. He was married to Melania Trump at the time and has denied Daniel's claim.
In October 2016 on the eve of the presidential election, reports emerged that Daniels had been paid $130,000 by then-Trump attorney Michael Cohen in "hush money" in exchange for her silence about an alleged 2007 affair.
