Phillies, Brewers among Machado finalists

Yankees right-hander Luis Cessa worked six shutout innings in starting Game 2 of doubleheader abasing the Baltimore Orioles on Monday night at Oriole Park

MLB trade rumors: Yankees make strong offer for Orioles' Manny Machado

As with almost every other team these days, the Indians are also in on shortstop Manny Machado, and reportedly have feelers out for outfielder Adam Jones, too. Each team would not only acquire the most prized asset on the trade market, but it'd also keep Machado from its biggest rival. While top prospect Sixto Sanchez appears to be out of the question in a deal for Machado, numerous organization's top prospects are in play.

Machado, who will be a free agent this winter, entered Tuesday hitting.309/.379/.555.

Olney reports that the Philadelphia Phillies and Milwaukee Brewers are among the finalists for the services of the star shortstop.

In 94 games, Machado has a batting average of.313 to go along with 23 home runs and 64 RBI.

Zoo in New Orleans closed after jaguar escapes, kills six animals
We are taking this incident very seriously and working to investigate what happened to prevent a similar occurrence in the future. The Audubon Zoo is closed after a jaguar escaped its exhibit Saturday morning, attacking and killing six other animals.

As it stands right now, the Baltimore Orioles and Dodgers are reportedly (subscription required) haggling over the price of Machado, but here we'll take a look at five Dodgers prospects whose names have been thrown around in the Machado trade rumors. While the Yankees have one of the strongest farm systems in baseball to fall back on in trade talks, the same can not be said about Boston.

Despite hitting just.241 this season, Devers has shown a lot of potential in his 147 career games, totaling 24 home runs and 78 RBI since making his Major League Baseball debut previous year. While the club is said to "have a pretty good idea what [Machado] can bring" back in a trade, it seems that some suitors are wondering if the Orioles won't wait to act until the deadline gets closer. It is likely that the Baltimore Orioles will continue to hold out for the best offer.

The Phillies and Brewers have joined the Red Sox and Yankees as teams mentioned to be in the mix.

That remains the ($400) million dollar question.
