Trump reveals details of planned Air Force One makeover

"Air Force One is going to be incredible", Trump said over the weekend in an interview with CBS Evening News anchor Jeff Glor.

When will Air Force One be ready?

The President has now confirmed that the changes were coming.

They also swapped the military-style typeface used to spell out the words "United States of America" with a more elegant font called Caslon.

Boeing has received a $3.9 billion contract to build two 747-8 aircraft for use as Air Force One by the USA president, due to be delivered by December 2024 and painted red, white and blue, officials said on Tuesday.

Weeks after the election, Mr Trump had tweeted that Boeing was making a new presidential aircraft "but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion".

The White House announced in February that it struck a deal with Boeing over the development of two new Air Force One planes.
