Authorities determined that Weiss, 38, was high on drugs when they found him outside a closed business complex, although they didn't know which specific substance he was on.
Despite this, his mugshot was still published on the Oroville Police Department's website - in keeping with the fairly standard but still fundamentally odd U.S. custom - and TMZ subsequently picked up the story.
Weiss, now 39, had other recent run-ins with the law. After pleading no contest, he was sentenced to 150 days in the Los Angeles County Jail.
A blood sample was also not taken. He spent a few hours in a local jail cell until he sobered up, but was not formally charged.
Michael Jordan responds to Donald Trump's tweet about Lebron James
I like Mike ( Michael Jordan)! He made Lebron look smart, which isn't easy to do . Trump was not "taking sides" in the online feud between James and the President.
This is not the first arrest for Weiss.
TMZ reported that Weiss was arrested in 2017 for possessing methamphetamine after serving a brief stint in prison for the theft of electronics. In August of a year ago, he was arrested for possession of suspected methamphetamine in Burbank, Calif., after being out of jail for just one week.
The "Heavyweights" actor was sentenced to 90 days in county jail past year for possession of suspected methamphetamine in Burbank, California.
