The mere fact that Manigault Newman, who has a new book out, managed to secretly record the White House chief of staff - and in the White House situation room, no less - is itself newsworthy.

"Meet the Press" was Omarosa's first stop on her whirlwind press tour, so expect more bombshell revelations and White House denials in the days to come.

Manigault Newman claims in an upcoming book, "Unhinged", that Trump used racial slurs on the set of his reality show "The Apprentice".

Manigault told NBC host Chuck Todd that she took that as a threat.

"It's pretty clear from that recording that John Kelly came in and said 'This is the end, we want you to leave, '" she said. Early excerpts have been denounced by White House officials, who are launching a concerted effort to discredit their former colleague.

"It is hindsight. But I will say this to you, I was complicit with this White House deceiving this nation", she said. "So yes, I had to protect myself, and I have no regrets about it".

The book also claims that Mr Trump behaves "like a dog off the leash" at events he attends without his wife, Melania.

She also writes she turned down an offer from Trump's daughter-in-law to sign a nondisclosure agreement in exchange for a job on the President's re-election campaign paying $15,000 per month. White House press secretary Sarah Sanders has described it as "riddled with lies and false accusations" and accused the author of being "a disgruntled former White House employee trying to profit off these false attacks".

Ivanka Trump, the daughter of President Trump and an adviser to his administration, shared a string of three tweets Saturday evening.

However, Karl doubled down on his question, again asking about Sessions' future in the White House. Trump blamed the violence on "many sides", rather than condemning the white supremacists who were protesting.
