The former footballer Ronaldo has reportedly been admitted to the intensive care unit of a hospital in Ibiza, after he came down with pneumonia.
Ronaldo is believed to have arrived in Ibiza for a summer holiday a few days ago before he fell sick.
"Guys, I had a bad case of flu here in Ibiza".
"Tomorrow I will be discharged and I will return home".
Among those sending best wishes to Ronaldo were former Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand, who tweeted a picture of the two of them together with the message: "Just seen the news. hope you're OK legend Ronaldo - get well soon!"

He was then transferred to a private hospital, and remains there, though he is reportedly making progress.
Ronaldo, regarded as one of the world's best-ever players, owns a house in Ibiza and is a regular visitor to the party island, which has always been hugely popular with Brits.
Ronaldo, who retired in 2011 had a glittering football career with top European clubs including Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan.
Throughout a prosperous career, he scored 62 goals in 98 worldwide appearances for Brazil.
He won his first cap for Brazil as a 17-year-old and went on to score 62 goals in 97 worldwide appearances, including both goals when Brazil beat Germany 2-0 in the 2002 World Cup final.
