Man crashes plane into own house after fight with wife

Police: Small plane crashes into Utah house, killing pilot

Pilot killed when plane hits house in Payson

Youd was arrested just hours before he smashed into the home where his estranged wife, Sandy, and a child were sleeping. He got out on bail, and returned to the home briefly to pick up some things.

She added that police had previously been called to deal with similar incidents at the property. "Obviously they were very shook up over what had happened but they weren't physically injured". The couple had gone to the canyon to talk over their problems, and reportedly had been drinking, according to Sandoval.

Flames engulfed the house in the city of Payson after the crash and ensuing fire at 2:30 a.m.

The wife escaped the cabin of the truck and got into its bed as Youd drove erratically before police pulled him over and arrested him for domestic violence.

The man, 47-year-old Duane Youd, did not survive the crash Monday, officials stated.

One person died after a plane crashed into a Utah home Monday, authorities said.

United gaffer Jose Mourinho claims he "needed six changes not three" in his side's season opener, with Anthony Martial seeing no game as other options had to take priority.

"We're going to go through and document the scene as it lies, then we're going to start getting removal of the airplane pieces out and start documenting those pieces as we get them removed", said Jason Aguilera, a senior NTSB Air Safety Investigator.

According to authorities, Youd crashed the plane into the house in the wee hours of the morning on Monday.

"We can only speculate what the motive is behind it", Sandoval said.

Within hours, Youd was taking off in the plane from the Spanish Fork-Springville Airport about 15 miles north of his house.

The plane took off from a Utah airport before crashing, police said. Most of the upscale house was still intact, but heavily burned on the front.

Online records reveal that Youd had agreed to attend marriage counselling for six months as part of a plea following his conviction of domestic battery and disorderly conduct on April 8.
