He ended up finishing three strokes behind Keegan Bradley, who defeated Justin Rose in a one-hole, sudden-death playoff, but there's still success for Woods to build on ... and problems to clean up.

On a rain-soaked Aronimink-players teed off in threesomes early Monday morning after the final round was rained out completely on Sunday-Bradley and Rose emerged from a bunched leaderboard that included Tiger Woods, who finished three shots out of a playoff at 17-under.

Storms sweeping across the East Coast of the U.S. wreaked havoc at the Aronimink Golf Club near Philadelphia with a soaked golf course finally being deemed unfit for Sunday play soon after 2pm local time.

The pair finished one shot ahead of Americans Xander Schauffele and Billy Horschel.

"So thankfully we got out here and played, and I made it to Atlanta and more now".

Bradley was a former user of the long, anchored putter and used it to win the 2011 PGA Championship - before anchoring the club to the body was outlawed by rulemakers in 2016.

He will have an unexpected week off before joining the American team for the September 28-30 Ryder Cup in Paris. I turned pro at 18 - it took me 20-odd years to get to No. 1.

Novak Djokovic: The great comeback continues
Never was that more apparent than the game that stood out on this evening: with Djokovic serving while down 4-3 in the second set. The eighth game was an epic, lasting over 20 minutes and featuring eight deuces before Djokovic withstood the pressure to hold.

Rose can go to No. 1 in the world for the first time in his career with a victory, making him the 22nd player to reach the top since the ranking began in 1986.

Last year, Spieth met the 1 in 4 rule and played 24 times.

Jordan Spieth will not be joining him.

That kind of scheduling certainty is why he was so focused on qualifying for the Tour Championship, and why he really gave some thought to the benefits of what could have been a rain-shortened event.

That means he will have played only 24 tournaments this season.

Still to be determined is the penalty. They are exempt from the policy by playing 25 events. I obviously accept whatever fine it is and move on and try and add one (new event) every year.
