Alvarez was ultimately suspended for six months by the Nevada Athletic Commission.

The two were initially schedule for a May 5 rematch, but it had to be canceled because Alvarez tested positive for a banned substance twice.

Kazakh fighter Golovkin, the defending WBA, WBC and IBO champion, weighed in slightly heavier at 159.6 pounds (72.4 kgs).

When they finally do meet Saturday night it will be with some hard feelings on both sides that didn't surface in the first fight.

Sanchez said a decisive victory for Golovkin will cement his place amongst the greatest middleweights in boxing history, delivering a signature victory that his otherwise stellar CV lacks.

The 2004 Olympic silver medallist, (38-0-1, 34 knockouts), has repeatedly accused his Mexican opponent of doping, raising the temperature in Las Vegas this week by voicing his suspicions again. Alvarez tested positive for clenbuterol and blamed it on contaminated meat from his native Mexico. All three judges agreed Alvarez won the first two rounds and the last three.

Triple G's trainer Abel Sanchez also added fuel to the fire after their first bout by accusing both Canelo and his team of wrapping their fighter's hand in an illegal manner.

Early on Sunday morning, Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin will rematch one another in the biggest boxing match of 2018.

The Golovkin camp has been relentless in chastising Alvarez for the failed test and postponement of the rematch.

"It's a real fight", Golovkin said this week. "I'm angry, but I'm going to use it in my favor for this fight".

"And if he fights him, he's going to get knocked out".

But both fighters say they are happy with the judges for the rematch, and doubt they will come into play anyway.

"The error I made was there were some spots in the first fight where he was vulnerable and I didn't take advantage".

"He's promised the fans he's going to knock him out but in order to do that you have to be in range and then it gets risky", Sanchez said.

"If Canelo gives me a chance and fights like he claims he will, I will knock him out", Golovkin said. But the fighters declined to hold a joint news conference when the new deal was finished, and they declined to go on a media tour or stand face to face at the final prefight news conference Wednesday.
