Elon Musk crossed the line when he called a British diver involved in the Thailand cave rescue a "pedo".at least according to the diver, who's now suing the billionaire.
Musk called Unsworth a "pedo" after Unsworth criticised Musk in a television interview.
He said he became a target for Musk after cavers rejected Musk's offer of a mini-submarine created by his rocket company SpaceX to rescue the soccer team which was freed from the cave on July 10 after an 18-day ordeal.
Musk and the diver, Vernon Unsworth, engaged in a public dispute in the midst of rescue attempts after Unsworth accused the billionaire entrepreneur of only offering to aid the efforts as a "PR stunt".
Mr Musk then went on to accuse Mr Unsworth of marrying "a child bride who was about 12 years old at the time" and that Chiang Rai, where Mr Unsworth lives with his Thai wife, "is renowned for child sex-trafficking".
Musk initially apologized for his words toward Unsworth, tweeting that his "actions against me do not justify my actions against him", adding that "the fault is mine and mine alone".
Trump Sets Tariffs On $200 Billion In Imports From China
Tariffs on steel (of 25 percent) and aluminum (10 percent) took effect in March, raising material costs for USA manufacturers. President Trump announced Monday that he is ordering 10 percent tariffs on $ 200 billion worth of imports from China.
Elon Musk tweeted: 'You don't think it's odd he hasn't sued me?
Tesla did not immediately respond to FOX Business' request for comment on the lawsuit against Musk.
Two days after the August 28 tweet, Musk emailed a BuzzFeed News reporter, suggesting the reporter investigate Unsworth and "stop defending child rapists", according to the lawsuit, which is 65 pages with exhibits.
But the lawyers say in the apology Mr Musk "significantly did not disavow or retract his accusations of paedophilia against Mr Unsworth".
After a letter was sent asking Mr Musk to "correct the public record", Mr Musk tweeted again asking: "You don't think it's unusual he hasn't sued me?"
Mr Unsworth did not take part in the dives but had previously explored the cave complex extensively. He started going to Thailand in 2011, where he explored and mapped caves, the documents said.
