Samsung could be about to launch a quad-lens camera phone

On the back, it has a 24-megapixel, F1.7 camera accompanied with an 8-megapixel, F2.4 ultra-wide, 120-degree sensor and a 5-megapixel, F2.2 depth sensor (for those portrait photos). The company has however not announced the price of the smartphone yet.

After much speculations, Samsung has officially unveiled the 2018 edition of its Galaxy A7 smartphone.

The major attraction for the phone is its triple camera setup on the back, placed in the top-left corner. There isn't an optical lens for zoom, however. Called Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018), the mid-segment smartphone will come in Blue, Black, Gold and Pink colour options. This tech can automatically recognize what the camera is looking at and adjust the camera settings to match.

The phone's other specs are decent for a mid-range device. The phone comes with a 6.00-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 2220 pixels.

The fingerprint scanner is present on the rear side and the device is backed by a 3300mAh battery with adaptive fast charging. While Huawei and OPPO are already selling triple camera smartphones, the upcoming LG and OnePlus smartphones are also rumored to offer the same.

Indian smartphone brands are losing ground to Chinese manufacturers in their home market - not a single one made the list of the five biggest players in Q3. Samsung's first phone with three rear cameras, that is.

The handset will initially launch in select European and Asian markets and will gradually expand this Fall.
