At long last, Marvel Cinematic Universe fans have gotten a look at Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) in action as the superhero-along with a peek at the aliens she'll be fighting.

There's already a suggestion from the first Captain Marvel trailer and the pre-release marketing we've seen that Secret Invasion is going to be the major storyline for at least part of Phase 4 and with that in mind, it would make sense that she'll be the flag-bearing character for the franchise from now on.

With great power comes great responsibility, and the titular lead of the upcoming Captain Marvel is about as powerful as MCU superheroes get.

A younger Nick Fury's (Samuel L Jackson's) narration is about "war being a universal language". On the responsibility front, however, Carol Danvers could maybe use a little more work, unless you think that the height of nobility is punching sweet old ladies in the face.

For those who aren't familiar with the Marvel Comics, Skrulls were an alien race who had the ability to shape-shift and spent a lot of time infiltrating Earth's highest ranks to sure power.

Whatever the case, it's clear that Captain Marvel is one of the most exciting additions to the MCU yet.

Captain Marvel is considered one of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel universe, and fans are hoping the film will answer some lingering questions from "Avengers: Infinity War".

The expected blockbuster also includes returning characters Korath (Djimon Hounsou) and Ronan (Lee Pace) from Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as new characters played by Jude Law and Ben Mendelsohn, one who plays the Skrull villain of the film.
