- Thirty Red Cross volunteers from Georgia are headed to North Carolina to help in the response to Hurricane Florence.

Please help the American Red Cross provide warm meals, shelter and hope to the families in need by donating today at www.RedCross.org or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS.

"They've got jobs and want to check on their home", said Jennifer Capps, Executive Director at Southcentral Kentucky chapter of the Red Cross.

"We've been doing this for years and we learned a lot of lessons from last year's hurricane season and they're coming to fruition in this disaster".

With the devastation Florence has caused in the Carolinas, mostly as a result of unprecedented flooding, the Red Cross is there right now to help.

The JCPenney Communities Foundation made a $50,000 donation to the American Red Cross. "So she's there bearing the storm, ready to help volunteers".
