According to ESPN.com, the Patriots were in talks with Detroit to trade Gronkowski around the time of the National Football League draft.

Following the Patriots' 26-10 loss to the Lions, the locker room felt like it took a bit longer than usual to open, and then Bill Belichick quickly made his way to the podium in a room across the way for a typical Belichick press conference following a loss.

The deal was thwarted when Gronkowski threatened to retire if he was shipped off to Motown.

The Patriots' receiving corps again was invisible, with Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett and Cordarrelle Patterson combining for just four catches, one of which came in garbage time.

Impact Of Alzheimer's Disease Will Double By 2060 — CDC Report
Alzheimer's disease progresses to dementia, which is a degeneration of the brain and worsens over time, eventually proving fatal. Experts worry people are being put off seeing a doctor because they're so anxious about how their life will change.

While he didn't come out and say it, Slater may have hinted things are not going as well leading up to games as they should, and typically New England is one of the most prepared teams in all of football. Sunday's game is also on the road and features New England's former defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, who is the coach for 0-2 Detroit. And it certainly looked that way as the Jets dominated the Lions, 48-17.

Stafford was 27 of 36 for 262 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Brady had just 55 passing yards. Running back James White and tight end Rob Gronkowski are both prolific pass catchers from their respective positions. "Brady's my quarterback. That's all. There's times when they were just running up and down the field on us and we really couldn't do anything about it, but then we had spurts and moments where we did do well and did get off the field... but it's nowhere near consistent enough". On the next series, the offense turned the ball over on downs, giving the Lions the ball back at the New England 13-yard line, gifting Detroit a 30-yard field goal.

Usually, the Patriots can outscore teams with that type of bend-but-don't-break D. Not so this time.
