There are now more than 2.8 million women with a history of breast cancer in America. "However, due to cost, length of the examination and lack of availability in all areas, it can not be used as a screening tool in place of mammography".

Dr Anthony Nsiah -Asare, Director General of Ghana Health Service, has said breast cancer remains a major public health burden for the global community - the cancer considered universal among women worldwide.

Monday marked the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but today you'll start to see even more pink around town in honor of the cause.

The Pink Ribbon Bagel, shaped in the form of the iconic pink ribbon symbolizing breast cancer awareness, features cherry chips, dried cherries and cranberries, vanilla, honey, and brown sugar. "The test helps pick up an additional 15 to 40 breast cancers per 1,000 women screened". One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, and when it is caught in the early stages it is more treatable and has better outcomes.

She also predicted that among women carrying gene mutations, the risk of breast cancer was about 80 percent by age 70 whereas the risk fell to 8 percent among women without them.

King persisted because a significant amount of statistical data generated around the world from the 1920s indicated that daughters of women who died of breast cancer were more likely to develop and die from the disease themselves. However, there are other, more important, factors for determining risk including: family history, age, race and reproductive history. Breast cancer can occur in women with all levels of density. Breasts that are mostly made up of fat with less breast and connective tissue are considered low density.

Addison Russell suspended 40 games by Major League Baseball
Less than 12 hours later, Major League Baseball announced Russell had been put on leave under MLB's domestic violence policy. The Cubs have been willing to employ players following suspensions under the domestic violence policy before.

Meanwhile, it's also been said that women who have never given birth or those who chose to have kids later in life have higher risks of getting the disease. "If we can bring awareness to people that is so much better".

"For future women, and men faced with this battle, I want them to know they are never alone".

In addition, women between ages 35-39 can request a baseline mammogram, but must have a payment source.

At the Scotland Imaging Center, new state-of-the-art technology is helping find more abnormalities than before.

This move to sharing breast density information with all women in BC follows the completion of an external review which looked at the reporting of breast density as part of the screening process.
