The New Orleans Saints' star quarterback needed just 201 passing yards Monday night against the Washington Redskins to surpass Peyton Manning's all-time record of 71,940, set in 2015.

"Drew, for 1,000 days I've held the record for all-time passing yards in the NFL".

The game was paused in the second quarter after Brees completed a 62-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith to allow for recognition of the accomplishment, which came in the quarterback's 18th National Football League season. Brees, meanwhile, was able to share the moment with his wife and children down on the sideline. Behind three touchdowns from Brees, New Orleans cruised to a 43-19 win over the Washington Redskins.

Of the passing-yardage record, Manning said at the time, "He deserves it".

Kavanaugh confirmed, quickly sworn in; major Trump victory
Chief Justice John Roberts administered the constitutional oath and retired Justice Anthony Kennedy administered the judicial one. Because senators confirmed Kavanaugh to the court, she hoped the public would take action in future elections.

"You've ruined that for me". Shown on the video slicing tomatoes, Manning deadpanned that his time as the career yards passing leader have been "the greatest thousand days of my life". "I love you boys, I love you".

"All your hard work and dedication have paid off", Manning said while holding up a photo of himself and Brees standing side-by-side in 2000, when Brees was still at Purdue and Manning was a third-year pro. However, Saints coach Sean Peyton took a chance on the 6'0ft quarterback and the tandem eventually won a Super Bowl, ironically against Peyton Manning's Indianapolis Colts.

Brees exited the game at the two-minute warning in the fourth quarter.
