DISCOVERY executive producer Alex Kurtzman revealed that the highly anticipated second season of the series will launch Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019, exclusively on CBS All Access in the United States. In it, Captains Kirk, Picard, Janeway and Sisko must go head-to-head in a contest rigged by the nigh-omnipotent Q, in order to save the galaxy.

While Zachary Quinto kept his face smooth in the recent Star Trek motion pictures, Leonard Nimoy famously sported a Van Dyck in the original series, when he was playing Mirror-Spock.

A fully bearded Spock is wheeled in and shocked back to consciousness for his introduction to Discovery, set a decade before the events of the classic television series. "It's like nothing you've seen before!"

"Spock needs our help", a voice is heard saying in this weekend's clip, which got more than 500,000 views during its first few hours online.

At Ceremonial Swearing-In, Trump Apologizes to Kavanaugh for His ‘Pain and Suffering’
As he returned to the White House Monday from Florida, Trump anticipated that Kavanaugh's swearing-in would be a "big night". Many observers have noted that Kavanaugh's confirmation itself represent a triumph of minority rule, in two senses.

Meanwhile, Jones teased his role as Commander Saru. "In season one, Stamets was kind of crabby and grumpy".

STAR TREK: DISCOVERY follows the voyages of Starfleet on their missions to discover new worlds and new life forms, and one Starfleet officer who must learn that to truly understand all things alien, you must first understand yourself.

Hopefully, in the upcoming season, the Klingons will look and act more like the ones fans had become accustomed to seeing in later seasons of The Next Generation and Star Trek: Voyager. Now, we'll all finally find out what happens next.

Saru also gets to visit his home planet and fans will meet his sister. We also felt as though the original series were transcendent in that way; they spoke to so much more than just an adventure in outer space featuring characters who you could know, love, and aspire to be like.
