A bride-to-be in IN paid tribute to her fiancé, who was killed by a drunk driver a year ago, with an emotional photoshoot on what would have been their wedding day.

Knepp shared photos from the wedding photo shoot last October 5, one of which showed Padgett kneeling before the grave of her fiancé's while wearing her wedding gown.

The photographer wrote: 'She made broken look attractive and strong look invincible.

"Thank you everyone for making my wedding day special even though I didn't get to marry the man of my dreams", Padgett posted to Facebook the day after her planned wedding.

The couple's maid of honour and best man gave speeches on the day, and guests lit paper sky lanterns before setting them free.

He was reportedly killed by a drunk driver in November 2017 while helping a auto crash victim.

As he opened the passenger door of his vehicle to retrieve some protective gear he was struck by another auto.

They added: 'He had a true servant's heart and captivating personality that would light up any room.

Kendall Murphy was killed in November 2017 while responding to a crash scene as a volunteer firefighter in Indiana. He didn't know a stranger.

Kendall's mother came up with the idea for Jessica to take wedding photos to help with the healing process. She said: 'What a emotional, incredible weekend this was!

Ms Padgett said of the association: 'This wasn't what we wanted, but at least we know we will never be alone, we have all become one big supporting family'.

Blake was arrested and charged with with "causing death while operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of.15 or more", although the case has not yet been set for trial.
