On Tuesday evening, October 16, 2018, the "No Tears Left to Cry" singer took to her Instagram Stories to announce a social media break following her recent split from ex-fiancé and comedian Pete Davidson. But if you're a glass half-full kind of person, take solace in this: it's not permanent (yet).
The singer went to extreme lengths to ensure she'd have no contact with her ex-fiance after their whirlwind engagement abruptly ended.
Though most of her accessories followed the evening's theme, TMZ noticed one interesting outlier. Grande said that she knew when she met Davidson on the set of Saturday Night Live in March 2016 that the two were meant to be.
She had also removed her $100,000 engagement ring, which she reportedly returned to Pete immediately after their split.
The actor is said to be heartbroken as he was "so in love" with Ariana, 25, but realizes that the songstress is "emotionally unavailable" right now. It's a stretch, but we're going to take this as a sign that Ariana and Pete's split is temporary (like their respective S.O. tats probably should have been).
Tesla Shares Surge as Elon Musk's SEC Tweets Settlement is Approved
A Tesla spokesperson confirmed the settlement , but said the automaker would make no further comment on the matter. Tesla and Musk, the company's CEO, agreed to pay a total of $40 million in fines in the settlement Tuesday.
On Tuesday Ariana appeared in a pre-taped performance for NBC's Wicked tribute with a band-aid covering her "Pete" tattoo.
'Time to say bye bye again to the internet for just a lil bit.
Although Grande has since deleted the post from her Story, her account is still active.
'Can't believe I nearly let my anxiety ruin this for me today!' she captioned a selfie in which she rocked a luminous green lip shade. The late rapper, whom Grande dated for almost two years before calling it quits in May, tragically died of a suspected overdose at the age of 26 on September 7. News earlier, "Pete has really been there for Ariana and she will always have a special place in her heart for him, but told him that right now is not the best time".
