The format and rules for his fight with Nasukawa are yet to be decided.

Word came tonight during a press conference (via Ariel Helwani) that Mayweather will face undefeated Japanese kickboxing sensation Tenshin Nasukawa at RIZIN FF 14 on December 31.

Mayweather posted a teaser photo on his Instagram feed at the weekend, showing him wearing kickboxing gloves.

Fans of Mayweather's and members of the Money Team will recognize the event as a turning point for the boxer who has ordinarily competed in competitions utilizing traditional boxing rules. In fact, he downplayed the financial aspect of the deal.

"Rizin has done a phenomenal job with the fighters", Mayweather said. "But we told the people anything is possible, so now we're here and we want to make sure that we give the people in Tokyo what they want to see: blood, sweat and tears". After winning a Bronze medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Mayweather turned pro and never looked back.

"We'll talk about that, we'll get that situated within the next couple weeks", Mayweather said when asked Monday about the weight and the rules. Let's go over to Japan.

The Rizin Fighting Federation was founded in 2015 by Japanese businessman Nobuyuki Sakakibara, who was previously the president of Pride Fighting Championships before it was sold to the then-owners of Ultimate Fighting Championship in 2007.
