There were some changes near the top of the latest College Football Playoff top 25 rankings, which were released Tuesday night on ESPN.
LSU dropped to #7 following its heartbreaking 29-0 loss to Alabama this past weekend. We'd happily watch all three of those teams go head-to-head against the Tigers, too. Every one loss team from another conference will be ahead of them as well as Notre Dame.
While both MI and Georgia have 3-1 records against ranked teams this season, the maize and blue have gotten their wins in the last three weeks and looked good against Penn State with their only loss being to the team ahead of them.
No. 18 Mississippi State at No. 1 Alabama.
Would Two Flu Shots Protect Me Better Than One?
Even healthy people can become sick enough to miss work or school for a significant amount of time, or even be hospitalized. The top three least expensive places to receive your flu shot are Costco ($19.99), CVS ($22) and Sam's Club ($30).
The Irish finish with three winnable games, but no locks.
Northwestern's Clayton Thorson, left, tries to break a tackle by Notre Dame's Te'von Coney during the second half of an NCAA college football game Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, in Evanston, Ill. The Big Ten went to a nine-game conference schedule in 2016, joining the Big 12 and Pac-12, meaning more opportunities for those teams to pick each other off. The Fighting Irish are just ahead of MI based on a head-to-head matchup, won by Notre Dame 24-17. Not so fast. Take a quick glance at the rankings and notice how many highly ranked teams still have to play each other. The Bulldogs will see Alabama in the SEC title game as SEC East champions, but they can't look past their next three opponents starting this Sunday against Auburn. UCF gave up a bunch of yards to Temple last week and stayed at No. 12 behind Kentucky, which was dominated by Georgia. We think they will move to No. 7 with Washington State remaining at No. 8. Oklahoma is No. 6 followed by LSU, Washington State, West Virginia and Ohio State. Remember years ago when Notre Dame beat Florida State in the regular season but then lost to Boston College and fell behind the Seminoles for the national championship in the polls? It has a strong defense, but offensively, it's limited at best. But that's a long way from certain considering the Buckeyes are the lowest ranked one-loss team.
If the season ended Tuesday, Alabama and MI would meet in the Cotton Bowl, and Clemson and Notre Dame would play in the Orange Bowl.
