Unfortunately, this is not the first time Perry has needed medical help at a performance.

But shortly after his performance at Madison Square Garden, the famed guitarist of the rock band Aerosmith collapsed backstage.

On Saturday, Perry had just finished playing "Walk This Way" and then struggled to breathe backstage. "This morning Perry remains in the hospital where he is alert and responsive".

After performing with Billy Joel on Saturday night, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry was wheeled out of Madison Square Garden on a stretcher and is now in the hospital after experiencing shortness of breath.

It's a quick decision in a moment of the game. "I think it's not a bad performance at all, it's a performance with mistakes". Eighth-placed United are now 12 points behind leaders City and 12 ahead of Cardiff City who are in the relegation zone.

Paramedics came and he reportedly was put on a stretcher and taken to the hospital.

In an update, TMZ is reporting that sources say Perry is "still in the hospital but he's awake, doing well and could be released as early as Sunday afternoon". The group includes singer Alice Cooper and actor Johnny Depp.

Perry was forced to cancel an appearance that day for obvious reasons, however, his rep indicated he was hopeful he would "return to the road later this month".

The 68-year-old Perry had recently announced a new single and solo tour.
