In a confidential quarterly report distributed to member states and reviewed by The Associated Press, the International Atomic Energy Agency said Iran has been abiding with key limitations set in the so-called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA.

Netanyahu said the trove of Iranian files Israeli intelligence secured proved Tehran was "brazenly lying when it said it never had a nuclear program", so the JCPOA was "based on Iranian lies and Iranian deception".

But Iran says the sanctions are inhumane and go against global law.

In his speech at the UN, Netanyahu called on Yukiya Amano - the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) - to dispatch IAEA inspectors to what Israel had identified as "a secret atomic warehouse in Tehran for storing massive amounts of equipment and material from Iran's secret nuclear weapons program".

United Nations inspectors say Iran is abiding by the agreement.

Monday's IAEA report, however, asserted that the agency had accessed all the sites in Iran that it needed to visit.

US National Security Advisor John Bolton vowed Tuesday to "squeeze" Iran "until the pips squeak", a week after a tough new round of sanctions came into force.

"Timely and proactive cooperation by Iran in providing such access facilitates implementation of the additional protocol and enhances confidence", the report stated, referring to the procedure detailing safeguards and tools for verification.

"Despite some regional countries that have caused different problems and tension in the region by their political mistakes, Iran's policy is to maintain stability and promote security in the region", the senior Iranian diplomat added.

The reason this report is particularly important this month is that it comes just a week after the U.S., who withdrew from the deal six months ago, imposed all the nuclear sanctions eased by the deal back on Iran.

But Bolton said "most of the countries of Europe have passed through denial and anger and many of them are already at acceptance that we're out of the deal".

The other parties to the JCPOA have repeatedly announced that the deal is working and should stay in place.
