Slated for a full debut on November 27, a day before the Los Angeles Auto Show, the revived Honda SUV will slot in between the CR-V and the Pilot. The 2019 Passport will also likely share a platform with the larger Pilot as Honda revealed the new crossover SUV will be built at its Lincoln, Alabama, plant-also where the Pilot calls its production home.

The Japanese automaker was coy about any other details on the new vehicle.

The new Honda Passport was designed and engineered - and will be assembled - entirely in-house, and will become the fourth model in the brand's CUV line-up, lining up in Honda dealerships next year alongside the entry-level HR-V, as well as the CR-V and Pilot.

Honda's US dealers are getting their first chance to see the Passport at a meeting in San Francisco Thursday, a Honda spokeswoman said.

Honda is building a brand-new SUV with an old name to fit in between the CR-V and the Pilot. Honda designed and developed the Passport in the US, and it will enter production in Lincoln, Alabama, alongside the Pilot.
