Google Announces Google Play's "Best of 2018" Awards

A report last week claimed that Cheetah Mobile and an associated company called Kika Tech were engaged in some shady advertising practices, and now Google has responded.

It is believed that the CM File manager and Kika keyboard had malicious codes to create fake click impressions via users to generate ad revenue.

Google has kicked out Cheetah Mobile's CM File Manager and Kika Tech's Kika Keyboard from the Play Store after an internal investigation revealed that those apps were involved in 'deceptive and malicious behavior'.

"The Company takes the current matter very seriously and is in continuous communication with Google Play to resolve any issues that may arise", it said. "If an app violates our policies, we take action", a Google spokesperson was quoted as saying.

The tech giant told BuzzFeed News that these two apps contain code used that can execute ad fraud techniques like click injection and click flooding. "Stateful hot reload transforms the way developers build an app - and in user surveys, developers say it makes their development cycle three times more productive". This was done in order to claim a bounty or fee for driving installations.

As far as game announcements go, we already know a few confirmed guests and have hints at a number of others. The Game Awards will be airing on Twitter , Facebook Live, YouTube , Twitch , and Mixer .

"Flutter doesn't replace the traditional Apple and Android app models for building mobile apps; instead, it's an app engine that you can either embed into an existing app or use for an entirely new app", Google said in a press release.

Specifically, what Flutter does is it enables developers to build "native" mobile apps for both mobile operating systems more quickly than they can use traditional platforms.

Google is also announcing other third-party integrations with Flutter, including an integration from mobile payment company Square that makes it easier to accept payments.

CM Manager isn't the only Cheetah app removed from the Play Store either, as Battery Doctor and CM Launcher were apparently removed in the wake of the original story.
