Post-apocalyptic Far Cry to be unveiled tomorrow

Post-Apocalyptic Far Cry Teased By Ubisoft, Reveal Coming Thursday

First Ubisoft themselves did, with a teaser trailer showing that a new Far Cry project was on the way - which would be properly announced at The Game Awards. We don't know much about outside of that, but it looks like Far Cry will be taking some inspiration from Fallout and sending us into a post-apocalyptic scenario. If you take a closer look at the trailer, you may notice that in the first frame we see the dropping of a nuclear bomb just in the background, with a familiar-looking Montana-esque barn and a United States flag next to it.

Okay, we'll admit it Geoff - we're hyped.

Hot on the heels of Far Cry 5 - which only released in March 2018 - Ubisoft has revealed it's already working on the next entry in the Far Cry series entitled Far Cry New Dawn. In the interim, Ubisoft has published a brief teaser giving us a glimpse of the game's post-apocalyptic theme. Now a leak of the game's Xbox One cover art has popped up on Twitter, revealing the new game's title as Far Cry: New Dawn.

Far Cry fans will instantly realise that not only does the initial setting seem to be the same as Far Cry 5 but that the game had a surprise ending where the religious cult set off a nuclear attack. In the meantime: did you play Far Cry 5? The connection suggests this game will follow the events of Far Cry 5.
