Developers and publishers have often used the awards show as an end of year foil to E3, revealing things that weren't quite ready to be shown at the gaming industry's summer event. The Game Awards 2018 are about to start, and we're in this together. We can also expect to see announcements for rumored games like Borderlands 3, Dragon Age 4, and even a new Alien video game named Alien: Blackout. The Game Awards will be airing on Twitter, Facebook Live, YouTube, Twitch, and Mixer.

The Game Awards 2018 kicks off at 5:30 pm Pacific / 8:30 pm Eastern.

The Game Awards was created in 2014 by media entrepreneur Geoff Keighley.

Kevin Hart faces scrutiny after old homophobic tweets surface
Hart soon responded to the controversy in a video posted to Instagram but didn't apologise for the tweets. While Hart's words are hurtful and damaging, it's safe to say that comedians cross this line quite often.

If you're not lucky enough to be attending the event in person, you can catch all of the Game Awards action live on nearly every streaming platform. Are you excited to watch The Game Awards this year? We now know that a new Far Cry game will be shown tomorrow night, and while I wasn't a big fan of the series' fifth iteration, that's still a big announcement. While we know some of the announcements we can expect, others have only been teased. Fortnite is getting a new Sandbox mode called Creative, which will operate separately from Battle Royale and will allow players to design games and battle friends on their own private island.

As far as game announcements go, we already know a few confirmed guests and have hints at a number of others. What game do you think will win Game of the Year this year?
