In a shocking incident, a male nurse at a government hospital in Rajasthan's Ramgarh district is said to have botched a difficult delivery during which he pulled the foetus so hard that it broke into two parts.
At the second hospital, doctors operated on her and found the baby's head in her womb.
Health minister Raghu Sharma said, "Those guilty will be punished and strict action will be taken after investigation".
A case was filed under IPC sections 304 A (causing death by negligence) and 336 (act endangering life or personal safety) against two staffers of the Ramgarh hospital. A mother of three kids, this was Deeksha's fourth delivery.
In June previous year, a British gynaecologist was found guilty of medical misconduct, after she accidentally decapitated an unborn baby in the womb.

They later lied to the gynaecologist at Jodhpur Umaid Hospital that they had finished the delivery.
The woman's husband has lodged a complaint against the Ramgarh hospital staff but the police is yet to arrest them. There were two male nurses present when the woman was brought to the PHC before midnight, on the intervening night of January 6 and 7.
The baby's father told India's English news channel Times Now on Thursday that hospital staff members failed to tell him about their mistake and even tried to hide the baby's body from him. Dr Usha Duggad, principal medical officer at Jawahar government hospital said it was a rare case. The baby was half out when the pregnant woman was brought to the PHC.
"A committee has been constituted to investigate the matter". The health centre has to submit a report within a week.
