"With all respect, I certainly hope she's not the future and I don't believe she is", Lieberman said to Fox Business host Neil Cavuto.
CNBC has reached out to Ocasio-Cortez for comment.
The Politico report characterized Ocasio-Cortez's chance of the committee appointment as "strong" and said other more senior legislators have sought to ingratiate themselves with the youngest woman ever to serve in Congress.
"I can not tell you the amount of dysfunction that this president is advancing", she said on MSNCB following the address, as reported by The Daily Wire.
Arsenal 'Close' to Sealing Loan Signing of Versatile Barcelona Midfielder Denis Suarez
Unai Emery admits Arsenal cannot afford to buy any players in the January transfer window and can only bring in loan signings. Arsenal will move level with four-placed Chelsea with a victory over West Ham United in Saturday's early kick-off.
On Thursday, Ocasio-Cortez tweeted an article about former Democratic Sen.
Since joining Congress, Ocasio-Cortez has used her influence in traditional media and on social media to promote leftist policies, such proposing a marginal tax rate increase for the top percentage brackets and lobbying for the Green New Deal. She still has not answered whether she will follow through with her own advice to fellow lawmakers to "have some integrity" and forgo her paychecks during the partial government shutdown.
Additionally, Ocasio-Cortez accused: President Trump "he has a proven track record of discrimination against anybody who's really non-white in the United States" predating his 2016 election to the White House. This wasn't Lieberman's first slam against her.
Lawmakers have been quietly criticizing the NY newcomer and are hoping to rein in her criticism of those in her own party, Politico reported, citing almost 20 lawmakers and aides.
"Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's surprise primary victory over Rep. Joe Crowley seems likely to hurt Congress, America and the Democratic Party". Joe Lieberman (D-Conn.), who was also nominee for vice president of the U.S.in 2000.
