Democratic senator Elizabeth Warren has made her bid for the U.S. presidency official, during a 44-minute speech in sub-zero temperatures. Elizabeth Warren is expected to launch her presidential campaign in one of New England's poorest and most heavily Latino communities. This is the fight of our lives, the fight to build an America where dreams are possible, an America that works for everyone.

The 69-year-old from the USA state of MA has already become a main target of Trump, who has dubbed Warren "Pocahontas" for previously identifying herself as a Native American, a controversy that has plagued the run-up to her candidacy.

Her announcement comes at the end of week where Warren apologized again after the Washington Post uncovered her registration card for the Texas bar in which she identified herself as American Indian.

"The American people will reject her dishonest campaign and socialist ideas like the Green New Deal, that will raise taxes, kill jobs and crush America's middle-class", Mr Trump's campaign manager Brad Pascale wrote. "I was a Republican because I thought that those were the people who best supported markets", she said.

He also accused her of "impersonating and disrespecting" Native Americans "to advance her professional career", referring to a DNA test she took to prove her Cherokee ancestry.

There were some in Ms Warren's campaign kick-off crowd who expressed concern that her struggles to explain her past claims of Native American heritage could make her vulnerable to attack.

The report, which marked the first instance yet of Warren making the assertion in her own handwriting, prompted new apologies from the senator.

What issues will Warren's campaign focus on?

Joe Schmidt: Ireland head coach defends ‘very varied game’
Toner's absence has exacerbated the prior lock losses of Iain Henderson to a finger problem and Tadhg Beirne to a knee complaint. Partnering Bundee Aki in the center of the pitch, will be Munster's Chris Farrell.

Unable to overcome Republican opposition to become the Director of the CFPB, Warren instead challenged and defeated Republican incumbent Senator Scott Brown of MA in 2012.

Joan Vennochi ("Warren can't beat Trump") is assisting the GOP in its effort to tear down Elizabeth Warren, whom the Republicans probably know may be the most formidable opponent to President Trump in 2020.

"I am sorry that I extended confusion about tribal citizenship and tribal sovereignty and for harm caused I am also sorry for not being more mindful of this decades ago tribes and only tribes determine tribal citizenship", Warren told reporters.

Warren joins a growing list of Democrats kicking off their White House bid, including fellow Senators Kamala Harris and Cory Booker.

Warren set up an exploratory committee on December 31 to consider a run, though there was little doubt she'd follow through with a formal campaign.

"In our country if you work hard and play by the rules, you ought to be able to take care of yourself and the people you love".

Her platform includes a tax on the richest 75,000 Americans. She believes "working families today face a lot tougher path than my family did".

Born and raised in Oklahoma, the 69-year-old is a graduate of the University of Houston and Rutgers Law School. Warren's platform will focus on numerous same issues she's worked on since she was a Harvard Law School professor who helped President Barack Obama create the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau after the 2008 recession: cracking down on big banks, making corporations more accountable to workers, and expanding health care and housing for the middle class and low-income Americans.
