The result was much mockery and derision from critics on the right, concern and confusion from fans on the left, and her office quickly pulling the much-maligned FAQ document from her GND page. Where is America going when major policy is being dictated by things a bartender in Queens once overheard while she was mixing drinks.

Campus Reform asked students whether they were for or against the deal, which aims to drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Democratic presidential contender Pete Buttigieg on Sunday endorsed a Green New Deal, saying the blueprint needs fine-turning but provides a framework for addressing climate change and revamping the Rust Belt economy.

When he told students what, exactly, was in the deal, responses changed.

Hockett said Ocasio-Cortez does not want to ban airplanes or pay people "unwilling to work".
