Fred Van Vleet Injury Update

Toronto Raptors point guard Fred VanVleet is expected to miss at least three weeks with a partial ligament injury to his left thumb.

With VanVleet set to wear a splint on his injured hand for the next three weeks, Lin can't arrive in Canada soon enough.

Point guard Jeremy Lin is finalizing a buyout with the Atlanta Hawks, and he intends to join the Raptors, his agents Jim Tanner and Roger Montgomery told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

On the season overall, VanVleet is averaging 10.5 points, 4.6 assists and 2.7 rebounds over 26.8 minutes per game while shooting 40.3 percent from the floor, 36.6 percent from 3-point range and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Asked about the proposal Tuesday, Klobuchar said she was a supporter of the broad idea, but kept some distance from the details. Ocasio-Cortez has subsequently described the fact sheet , which has been deleted from her website, as a "draft".

Now an National Basketball Association veteran, the Asian-American first made headlines when he burst onto the scene in 2011-12 with the New York Knicks, inspiring a global craze known as 'Linsanity.' The craze was so significant that when he hit a game-winning shot against the Raptors in 2012, it drew a huge cheer - in Toronto.

While Lin can't officially be signed by the team until he clears waivers, the Raptors will have to potentially play the last two games (Nets, Wizards) before the All-Star break with a backcourt of Kyle Lowry, Jordan Loyd, Patrick McCaw and Norman Powell.

Toronto is now 41-16 and leading the Eastern Division.
