Respawn Has Banned 355K Apex Legends Cheaters, Working With AMD To Fix PC Crashes

So far, over 355,000 cheaters have been caught out by Apex Legends' anti-cheat system. Of course, specific plans need to be kept secret so as not to give cheat developers an edge on finding new ways to exploit the game.

There are even rumours that the Battle Pass will launch later this week, an event that would no doubt drive interest and grow the already impressive concurrent player numbers. The latest check-in reports mention that nearly 355K players were banned by the easy cheat engine used in Apex Legends.

According to the leaked game files discovered by Real Apex Leaks, the Season 1 Pass could feature skins for the title's various characters, unspecified buttons, its own menu, free and paid versions, and more. In the next client patch on PC we will be addressing some of the known crashes, but there will still be work to do as we haven't nailed down all crashes yet.

As of today, we've banned over 355K players on PC through Easy-Anti-Cheat.

The developers assured that if the server issue can be solved with spending money then would happily do that, but it's not like that. "We take cheating very seriously and care deeply about the health of Apex Legends for all players". "Cheaters are crafty and we don't want them to see us coming", Respawn community manager Jay Frech wrote on reddit.

In order to keep up, Respawn has said that it is "working on improvements to combat cheaters".

We are reaching out and working directly with experts, both within and outside of EA, in this area that we can learn from. It'd be tough to balance them to not be massively over or under-powered if you could just choose to queue with them though, so if they do end up being on your team from the start of a match, it's more likely that they'll fill in for disconnected players.

Aside from that, the anti-cheat team is going to be scaled up and have more dedicated resources.
