Kim Kardashian continues her work towards criminal justice as she offers to pay 5 years of rent for a former inmate as his housing application was denied. The reality star has promised to pay his rent for five years while he gets back on his feet.
Kardashian West reportedly reached out to Charles privately after hearing of his story on social media and made the generous offer, and Charles will use the money to pay his rent, so he can save up for a house in the future, TMZ reports.
Charles, 52, was sentenced to 35 years behind bars in 1996 on non-violent drug charges for selling crack cocaine and illegal possession of a firearm.
"I just received the most wonderful news tonight that I just had to share with everyone", he wrote. That changed last December, President Trump signed the First Step Act which led to Charles' release from prison again.

Kardashian learned of Charles' return to prison, and eventually mentioned his case in conversation with Trump.
"She later discussed Matthew's situation when she met with the president in September.""Was moved and has chose to help me", he wrote.
"Kim [Kardashian] did not do this for attention or publicity, but I had to share it because it's to [sic] good not to, and my heart is about to burst with happiness, that I wish you to rejoice in this news with me", Charles shared in a Facebook post Sunday.
