The New York Giants officially announced that wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and linebacker Olivier Vernon have been traded to the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday, with general manager Dave Gettleman offering little more than a parting "thank you".
Beckham has missed 16 games over the last two seasons, but he was still very productive in 12 games last season (77 catches for 1,052 yards, six touchdowns).
USA grounds all Boeing 737 Max planes
Earlier in the day, Canada banned the 737 Max jets from operating in its airspace, leaving the U.S. as the sole holdout. Now, in the meantime, the USA and Canada have agreed to block the troubled jets' flights out of safety concerns.
This, she said, illustrates the difference between Beckham in private versus the public perception of him.
Manning set a career-high for completion percentage (66 percent) a year ago, but the eye test has shown a cooked quarterback for about three seasons.
The return is an average one at best for a player the caliber of Beckham Jr, and the evaluation of it all depends on if the Giants hit on the draft picks and if Peppers can produce with the G-men. That said, Beckham will be a more regular opponent for the Patriots in the coming years now that he's in the AFC. He added that it appears the Giants want the first overall pick in 2020, which is hard to argue with right now. So that's something to latch onto as a Giants fan. This is a tough time to be a Giants fan as the organization continues to look inept building around Manning and trading away a future Hall of Famer. Giants running back Saquon Barkley took home the award in 2017.
