The job is to place the six-tonne Arabsat-6A satellite into geostationary orbit about 36,000km above the Earth.
Arabsat-6A is a large satellite, weighing 6,460-kilograms.
The Thursday April 11 launch marked the first flight of the 230-foot-tall (about 70 meters) rocket with the payload from a paying customer.
Falcon Heavy is not expected to fly almost as often as its smaller counterpart, which has completed more than 20 missions since last February. In 2018, the two side boosters landed safely at Cape Canaveral Air Force base. The boosters will be refueled and reused. SpaceX boss Elon Musk tweeted "The Falcons have landed".
NASA has awarded SpaceX and Boeing Co a total of $6.8 billion to build competing-rocket and capsule systems to launch astronauts into orbit from American soil, something not possible since the U.S. Space Shuttle was retired from service in 2011.
The launch had been delayed three times during the week, mostly due to a storm front and upper-level winds.

The FFR was last week ordered to pay Burnel's predecessor, Guy Noves, more than $1.67m in compensation. He also recently promised he would appoint Brunel's successor before the World Cup in Japan kicked off.
Note that the successful launch of the Falcon Heavy will open for United States new opportunities.
SpaceX's Falcon Heavy is by far the most powerful operational rocket in the world. Thursday's launch marks the first time a Block 5 booster was used for the big rocket. Although fairing recovery vessel Mr. Steven is also out and about, the vessel will not be taking part in this launch's recovery efforts after an anomaly earlier this year catastrophically damaged his arms and net, breaking two arms off and resulting in the loss of the net.
Boisterous spectators chanted along with the launch announcer who counted down the final 10 seconds before liftoff.
SpaceX wants to compete with its arch rival in the lucrative business of launching ultra-heavy satellites into space.
On Falcon Heavy's maiden voyage into space in February 2018, an estimated 100,000 visitors came to watch. The red Roaster - with a mannequin, dubbed Starman, likely still at the wheel - remains in a solar orbit stretching just past Mars.
SpaceX will soon be preparing for a different kind of mission. The rocket can lift nearly 141,000lbs into orbit, which is more than double the Delta IV Heavy, the next closest operational vehicle.
