Timothy Williams, the pitchman for travel site "Trivago", has been arrested and charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

Actor Timothy Williams, 52, was found passed out behind the steering wheel of a auto around 3:15 p.m., Houston police said.

After he was pulled over, the actor allegedly failed a sobriety test, authorities said.

He was arrested and his bail was set at $100. When police responded to reports of a stalled vehicle in a lane of travel, they discovered Williams out cold with his foot still on the brake in the middle of traffic.

A Trivago statement Friday says the company didn't have full details on the situation but treats such incidents very seriously and strongly condemns drinking and driving as a risk to others and against the Trivago culture.

According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, five cases have been reported in northeastern and eastern Illinois. People younger than 5 and older than 65 and people with weakened immune systems are most susceptible to the illness.

In addition to his on-screen parts, Williams is also a singer and songwriter.

Williams is mostly known for his roles in Trivago.com commercials, which began in 2016.

The actor has been court-ordered to undergo mental health or intellectual disability assessment.

"When the Germany based travel company Trivago, first auditioned Tim, he would serve only as a voice over talent, but on the second engagement with the company they made a decision to put him in front of the camera in a move that certainly proved to be a win for both, Trivago and Tim", his website states.

During a second audition he was put him on camera, and he's been the face of the company for the five years since.
